Our Projects
BRAEMAR-2 POWER STATION
SCOPE OF WORK
Installation and welding of new pipework (316L S/S & Carbon Steel) for Breamer 2 Power Station expansion Project.
NO 5 BLAST FURNACE STOVES
SCOPE OF WORK
The majority of site labour involved the placement & fitting of plates, with welding to stringent weld procedures using MMAW (stick welding). TWE maintained 100% NDT record. That is; 10.5 tonnes or 160,000 electrodes were used to complete approximately 1000 metres of 100% tested weld, with a thickness range from 20 to 55 mm thick, without a rejectable defect.
Almost half a kilometer of stainless pipe was installed for the pressure relief systems for the stoves.

NO.5 BLAST FURNACE RELINE
SCOPE OF WORK
Complete reline of the Bluescope Steel (BSL) No.5 Blast Furnace.
TWE were assigned the overall responsibility for the following activities;
- Furnace top, furnace proper and cooling system demolition.
- Refurbishment of shell, hydraulic pipework Installation and structural steelwork.
The part supply, fabrication and installation reline took approximately 150 x 24hr working days.
SUGARLOAF WATER PIPELINE
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of the works required excavation, pipe laying, welding, coating reinstatement and backfilling the pipeline. It also included the installation of pipeline structures including air and scour valves as well as welding 35km of 1.751m diameter water pipeline for backup water supply to Melbourne refer to photos below.
This large scale project required a work force of 120 including project management staff, supervisors, operators, welders, general labour and various other skilled personnel.
The installation of the pipe was an earthwork intensive process that required the use of an 85 tonne excavator as well as various other pieces of Pipe & Civil Constructions specialised plant.

TALLAWARRA POWER STATION
SCOPE OF WORK
TWE were contracted to supply labour for the preparation, welding and installation of three different types of pipe materials, namely Carbon steel, stainless steel and Chromemoly.
We welded Grades 309, 316, 304 & 308 of stainless steel. In addition internal purging was used to prevent a atmospheric contamination. In addition different grades of Chromemoly such as P11, P22 and P91 were welded on this project.
